About LRQA
LRQA was formed in 1985 as a means of offering independent certification of management systems. The company is part of the Lloyd´s Register group, which means we can offer a huge range of services anywhere in the world.
Better management systems through Business Assurance
We operate in over 120 countries and help organisations to deliver their customer promises. In order for the customer to get maximum benefit and value from their management system, we are now working on a new approach – Business Assurance. In short, this means raising the bar and not being satisfied with simply confirming compliance with or deviation from a standard. Instead, we provide structured feedback that results in constant improvement that sharpens up the management system and minimises risks, while also encouraging development within the organisation in question. The overall effect for our customers is evident through better competitiveness and higher profits.
Our auditors
Audits are always performed by auditors who are certified specialists with years of experience in customers’ preferred areas. All our auditors are university educated and can speak the customer’s language and are familiar with that country’s culture and business climate. At LRQA all companies and industries are assigned a code based on the company’s specific business area. These codes are also used by our auditors, who can then be matched to the right companies. For customers, this means that any audit of your management system is performed by auditors with specialist knowledge of precisely your area.
About Lloyd’s Register
As the world’s first classification company, Lloyd’s Register has been providing impartial certification since 1760. The company quickly became known for its high standards within shipping, although it now also operates in the fields of oil & gas, transportation, maritime applications and management systems (LRQA). Lloyd’s Register is an independent group that works with national governments and bodies to ensure commercial impartiality. The group is a non-profit-making concern, where income from fees and the sale of publications is used for research, development and training purposes and to further improve LR’s own services.
